17OCt12: Wed. Typical High Box and Strength....

BB Gymnastics
1) 7X2 Snatch from High Boxes (above knee) – heavy but perfect—not maximal, rest 60 sec. DEMO VIDEO
2) 7X2 Clean from High Boxes (above knee) – heavy but perfect—not maximal, rest 60 sec. DEMO VIDEO
Strength/Conditioning
1a) 3X7 Seated DB Shoulder press – heaviest possible, rest 30 sec.
1b) 3X15 Reverse Hypers – heavy, rest 30 sec.
1c) 3X20 BB Stepups 20″ (front rack)– heavy, rest 30 sec.
1d) 3X7 Weighted Muscle-Ups – heaviest possible, rest 30 sec.
Notes: Stepups are 20 total alternating steps. Use a challenging weight, but do not use so much that you allow the trail leg to touch the box before the stepping leg is fully extended. Muscle-Ups are designed to be performed UB. If you cannot perform 7 UB without weight, try to get as large of a ME set as possible, but do not add load.

  1. Snatch: 95, 95, 115, 115, 125, 135. Back feeling better.
    Clean: 155,155,175,185,185,185,195. Had some issues on 185. Having trouble jumping and shrugging. Last couple sets were ok.

    Db Press: 45, 50 (5/2), 50 (5/2)
    GH Raise (rather then reverse hyper): 3x10 Almost do not need any assistance getting off bench....
    Step ups @ 55# (HATE THESE)
    MU: 2, 1, 1. Still can not transition into mulitple. Need to work on this.

    G. Sullivan form dialing in on snatch. He will be a killer soon w/ his focus and relentlessness. Hate how he pushes me. Love it too, but mostly hate it during the work out.

  3. Snatch: 70, 75, 75, 80, 80, 85, 90. Got better each round.
    Clean: 95, 95, 105, 105, 110, 110, 115. Need mobility work in front rack. Forearms have not recovered since Friday's MUs.

    DB Press: 35, 30, 30
    GH Raises
    Step Ups @ 55# (HATE THESE TOO): 20, 15/5, 15/5
    Chest 2 Rings: 7, 7, 7. Shoulder would not support a single MU.

    7 Hang Squat Cleans
    9 Sumo Deadlift Hight pull

    Time: 20:19 (sucks but I kept burning out)

    Found my groove from rounds 2-4. Was stiff on round one and burned out at round 5. Ended up doing a number of power cleans and front squats.

    Ran 2 miles 23:25
